KARAWANE CURRENTLY (AND ALWAYS) READING MANUSCRIPTS

Karawane is a journal of experimental performance texts, an avant garde page/stage journal.  We accept poetry, short fiction, play texts, performance art texts, oratory, musical scores, dance pieces, etc.  If it's a literary remnant of a performance or a piece of literature to be performed, and it's experimental in some way (as opposed to workshop fiction and poetry . . . something the New Yorker might publish, narrative confessional work, etc.) we'll consider it!

Be sure to check out previous issues and also our MySpace blog to see what we've published in the past.  It's not a boilerplate, but it will give you some ideas.

Please send electronic submissions to karawane@earthlink.net.  We no longer accept paper submissions.  We prefer word attachments and jpgs or gifs for photos and graphics.  Try not to send any submissions over 1 mg if possible.  (Multiple submissions ok.)

We won't do acknowledgements until decisions have been made.  If you want to make sure your email gets through, please attach a read receipt.

We do accept and encourage simultaneous submissions.  Just let us know if someone else gets to you before we do.  We also take previously published work if acknowledged as such and as long as you have retained copyright.

For more info, see our Guidelines page.

Help us out and get some great merchandise at the same time!

Party Like We're TEN!  (IN DOG YEARS!)

This year's release party for Karawane will be Sunday, June 29th, 1:00 pm at Coffee Gallery as part of PRISM Poetry's Featured Reader series.  Join all the great Twin Cities locals, have some great dessert and chilli and a beer ('cuz we got blue laws and you can't buy liquor in the stores on Sunday!) and come and interact with some of these wild avant garde poets and performance artists.  We're working up something good for you.

Oh yes.

Be there.  Or be a rhombus.
